Classic Creamy Hummus

Nothing beats a homemade hummus. It's easy, it's creamy, and you can season as you like. All it takes are a few ingredients and two simple steps!

Ingredients
  

  • 15 oz chickpeas
  • 1/2 cup aquafaba
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp za'atar seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic chive or garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground paprika
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin

Equipment

  • 1 food processor
  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons

Preparation
 

  1. Prepare the chickpeas as their can/package instructs. Remove their outer skin for a creamier texture if desired.
  2. Add the chickpeas, tahini, aquafaba, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic chive/garlic powder, paprika, cumin, and za'atar to a food processor. Pulse/grind until smooth.

Substitutions, Add-Ons, & Alterations:
  • Replace tahini (contains sesame) with sunflower seed butter, cashew butter (contains tree nuts), or almond butter (contains tree nuts).
  • Substitute aquafaba for water.
  • Use avocado oil in place of olive oil.
  • Try this with any seasonings, herbs, or spices you prefer!
