Tempeh Bacon Bits

Enjoy the taste of bacon, meat-free, with these tempeh bacon bits! They're the perfect addition to salads, potatoes, eggs, or pasta.

Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz tempeh
  • 2 tbsp coconut aminos
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp avocado oil
  • 1 pinch salt

Equipment

  • 1 small bowl
  • 1 air-fryer
  • measuring spoons

Preparation
 

  1. Crumble the tempeh into the small bowl.
  2. Add all of the other ingredients into the bowl and toss together, covering the tempeh bits.
  3. Air-fry the tempeh bits at 365F for ~20 minutes, tossing halfway.

Notes

Tips:
  1. Spread tempeh (contains soy) crumbles evenly throughout the air-fryer for an even crisp.
  2. Let the tempeh (contains soy) and other ingredients sit in the bowl before air-frying for a stronger taste.
